Energy worlds at Siemens energy
This year, too, the Siemens energy turbine plant in Görlitz is giving schoolchildren in grades 10 and 11 an insight into the energy world of tomorrow.
During a JobSafari, the young people can get to know the various departments of the plant, from A for preparing quotations to Z for machining. In each module, mentors vividly present their working world. This week, the offer creation module was on the agenda. Lisa Graen from the #bildung service point was present at this appointment. “At the JobSafari, the ENO is responsible for the entire coordination of the participants. The students can register through us and we have contacts with the companies,” explains Lisa. "We are sometimes on site to get a clear picture of the implementation."
Here is Lisa's impression:
Siemens employee Curd Wukasch went to great lengths to present the processes and areas of responsibility in his department to the students. With great enthusiasm for his job, he reported on the many international customers for whom he and his colleagues prepare offers and process inquiries. He also discussed new trends in the energy sector. In addition to the turbines, there are also requests for tailor-made products for the use of renewable energies. A dedicated research department is working intensively on this topic. The students followed the explanations of their mentor in this module with great interest. However, she has not yet decided whether she really wants to have a job at Siemens energy. Rather, they use offers such as the job safari to get a comprehensive picture of possible training and study occupations. In the coming week, they will continue with the Research & Development module. By June of this year, the participants in the JobSafari at Siemens energy had completed 14 modules. The CASUS Institute in Görlitz had already offered a job safari in February. Similar offers are also planned for the Zittau region in autumn. Companies that want to draw the attention of students in this way are welcome to contact us at
