Good stories from the priceless country
The second edition of the ZEIT ung for homeland appears at the turn of the year.
A contribution by Ingo Goschütz
We were almost in a celebratory mood when we hit the send button in our mail program on Friday, December 2nd. Good stories on 32 A4 pages went on their electronic journey to the printer. 28 days later they should end up in printed form in all mailboxes in the priceless country. The second edition of “ ZEIT ung für Heimat ” is now on its way.
At the turn of the year 2021/2022 we tried for the first time to reach the people in the district of Görlitz with an unpayable land magazine. A lot of positive feedback from readers confirmed that we had struck a chord and that we shouldn't just have one issue. Some even wanted a monthly issue. That was an incentive and motivation for us to publish a newspaper again at the turn of the year. A task that we were happy to take on and that gave us wonderful moments even during the working phase.
A special experience for me was the visit to the Mühlencafé in Förstgen with Annett Hertweck and Stefan Kotschmar. I was personally touched by the vivid tour of the mill and your impassioned report on the conversion work over the last three years. The strong solidarity of the people, the overwhelming support from sympathizers from the region and the delicious coffee from golden collector's cups inspired me. After three hours I started my journey home almost euphorically. Jasna Zajcek's story about Nick Kullak and his mother Jeanette shows that the priceless advantages of our home country compared to living, residing and working in the big city really exist. The two left Berlin and found a new home in Görlitz, where they are now happy.
These and other stories about dedicated people, creative entrepreneurs and young teachers can be found ZEIT ung für Heimat We want to use it to promote our district. The local residents learn why we can be proud of our homeland. And those who are not yet at home here may be inspired to come here and stay. In this sense, the newspaper is pure advertising for our priceless country. The good thing is that we didn't have to make up the "promotional stories". They can be found throughout the county year-round. We could have filled numerous pages with it. Unfortunately we only had 32 available.
We, the team at the Unpayableland service point, are grateful that we were able to produce this newspaper. Without the backing of our management, without the support of the district administration and without the exciting protagonists who openly told us their stories, the implementation would not have been possible.
We are now looking forward to December 31, 2022. Then you can get the ZEIT ung for home from your mailbox and start the new year with good stories.
Until then, we will arouse your curiosity about the newspaper here on the blog.
