A Mecklenburg heart beats for Lusatia - and now also in the ENO
Hello!
Today I would like to introduce Nino Gehler from our new municipal team.
Nino describes himself as the "pragmatic type of person" - which is the first good prerequisite for fruitful cooperation with the municipalities in the process of structural change. Because soon he will swarm out into the district together with the other project managers from our municipal team and bring the wishes and ideas that are brought to him by mayors and committed municipalities and initiatives to us in the ENO.
Here he and the others from the Structural Change working group will then check, think and write a lot, a lot - in order to implement the ideas for designing the structural change as projects that are funded as comprehensively as possible and then put them into practice on site. Or - ideally, he will help to get the funding off the ground, so that they can then implement their ideas.
We are happy about Nino's fundamentally optimistic attitude to life and his ability to empathize with people who are critical of new things! In addition, he brings experience from university politics - certainly not the worst thing to throw into communication with local politics.
Pretty versatile - and really down-to-earth.
Because even though Nino studied ecology and environmental management in Zittau, he initially had a small career in a wonderful but strenuous job that required organizational talent and staying power - as a trained landscape gardener, he has in his home Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania properly packed in horticulture. After his training, which also included learning manual skills such as paving, plant cultivation, tree care work, playground construction and pond and timber construction, he worked, managed construction sites, passed the technical diploma and only then discovered the Zittau University of Applied Sciences for himself, where he worked as a student assistant worked in environmental management and also had himself certified by TÜV as an environmental management officer.
It is clear that this man cares about nature. The only question that remains is why he, coming from beautiful Mecklenburg, decided to study and live in Upper Lusatia?
Nino explains with a little smile that Zittau wasn't his first choice of place to study. He felt too connected to family and friends in the north, but when he came here, his reluctance "disappeared little by little - because the area alone is beautiful and I was lucky enough to be welcomed into a large family, my 20s -WG." So he immediately felt integrated by great people, got to know their perspectives, grew into the community and the network and increasingly found the meaning for his life that he was looking for. "Being able to actively participate in creating a better place, the multitude of opportunities to participate" fulfills him both privately and professionally. Now he is happy to be able to participate in the development of the district of Görlitz, which he has grown fond of, through his new job.
"I intend to stay here because Lusatia is my adopted home" - you believe Nino immediately. When he was in Mecklenburg for three years for family reasons, he thought a lot about Zittau and came here at every opportunity so as not to lose contact. "So yes - I missed Lusatia and felt more comfortable with my decision every day and now, especially with my new job at ENO in the Structural Change working group, I really feel at home."
Welcome to the ENO, dear Nino!
Best regards!
