From Lusatia to the stars

Hello!
, project manager Clara Hartung from our structural development reports on some of the projects she oversees and advises that want to advance development here in Lausitz.
The idea competition “ Knowledge creates perspectives for the region ” of the federal government wants to support the structural change in the Lusatian mining area and the central German mining area with two large research centers. Three of the six finalists want to go to Lusatia. Clara Hartung from the ENO supports the respective project sponsors in the development of the concepts and the regional adaptation, so that the future large-scale research center can also add value for the region and the people living there.
The first project on Clara's desk is Lausitz Art Of Building . The makers want Lusatia to develop into the center of the world for the construction industry.
Buildings of the future - soon from Lusatia into the world?
A rethink in construction is urgently needed. Because today's construction is very resource-intensive, and resources such as sand are already scarce. The construction industry currently causes around 25 percent of CO2 emissions and consumes around 40 percent of the energy generated. With the LAB, Lusatia could become one of the greatest levers to stop climate change and resource consumption.
Sounds exciting? Have we piqued your interest? But do you still have a few questions?
You can put them directly to the project team in a digital get-together next Wednesday, March 9th - click here to register .
Second competition entry. The Lusatian granite nappe could make the “ German Center for Astrophysics ” possible. underground research laboratory an Einstein telescope , i.e. a gravitational wave observatory is to be built near Bautzen .
invited to an information event in Ralbitz-Rosenthal Octavian Ursu there
Examinations of the granite rock have been taking place since the end of February. There are also plans to set up a data center, in which data streams from observatories from all over the world will converge, and a technology center in Görlitz, in which, among other things, new semiconductor sensors, silicon optics and control technologies will be developed. A project that connects the districts of Bautzen & Görlitz.
And because Clara has really had a taste for space, she is also in charge of the third great project that wants to go to the stars from Lausitz. Literally!
The colonization of the Moon and Mars is to be prepared with ERIS - that would be science fiction within reach, straight from Lusatia
The " European Research Institute for Space Resources " is planning to set up a major European research center for space resources that will prepare for the colonization of the Moon and Mars by mankind. Space technologies are to be developed in Lusatia with local resources and with Lusatia's competencies - such as the mining and processing of resources. Sounds crazy - and could lead to the current challenges on earth being dealt with better and solutions being found for supplying people with less resources. After all, anyone who has mastered the environmentally friendly supply of people on Mars can certainly do the same on Earth - under lighter conditions.
Further information can be found on the websites of the projects. But you are always welcome to contact us
