"Green Classroom" in Weißwasser?
The members of the youth city council in Weißwasser, , want to get involved and not just attend events or committees.
The young people have made it their mission to realize the idea of a "green classroom" that should be available to all schools in the city.
But what is the best way to approach a project like this?
What should the “ Green Classroom ” look like and what resources does it require?
How can you finance all of this?
The young people asked themselves these questions. In order to find answers, Ivana and Saskia, together with the youth city council, carried out a 3-hour idea sprint in the premises of the Lausitz social network in Weißwasser . The idea sprint had the goal of concretizing the vision of the six young people and defining next steps and responsibilities. In addition to some youth city council members, other interested young people became aware of the idea sprint Weißwass(er)leben app
After getting to know each other for a short time, the young people's first task was to get a clear idea of the framework conditions. Among other things, they should consider which other interested parties could benefit from the "Green Classroom" and began to calculate the costs.
Then, using the Walt Disney method, first dreamed up their dream classroom, including vending machines for drinks and snacks, a location in the treetops and much more. The young people then slipped into the role of the critics and made clear the obstacles and risks of the project and considered, for example, vandalism, the teachers' lack of motivation to use the place and complex administrative regulations. Both perspectives should then be combined into a pragmatic one. The young people then visualized this vision using Lego. The "Green Classroom" is to be built on a fenced area. Benches and tables, made from pallets, were to be arranged in a U-shape around a table and a desk. In addition, there should be many trees and flowers in the classroom area. The area is supplemented by an insect hotel, a book cell, a swing, WiFi and floodlights, so that the classroom could also be used in the evenings.
Finally, other tasks were assigned. One of the youngsters will make a 3D digital model of the "Green Classroom". Another participant will write down the idea and consider what materials are needed to implement it. And of course the young people would like to present this project to Mayor Torsten Pötzsch and make an appointment.
The ENO will continue to support the youth city council with the project, e.g. to determine financing options and be available for further idea sprints for the development of project ideas.
Do you have great ideas for improving your living environment?
