Work on the VISION Mobility 2030 +
Regular readers of this blog cannot have missed the fact that in Heike Schleussner we have an experienced traffic expert on the structure development team.
the future of mobility in Upper Lusatia and planned the first steps together with the participants of the kick-off for the Lausitzcluster Mobility The participants and the future vision were immortalized by the Buntbüro from Dresden in the picture "Mobility Vision Upper Lusatia 2030".
Public transport in rural areas still has an image problem, because most people do not see it as a particularly attractive and reliable alternative to their own car. a lot has already been achieved with the introduction of the plus and clock bus systems
Here is a small excerpt:
- The tariff systems must be simplified
- It needs a digital and easy-to-use information system
- The region as a whole must also be better and faster accessible by long-distance transport
- Passengers should be able to move safely and comfortably within Upper Lusatia without their own car.
What will a mobile day (can) look like here in a few years' time?
The network partners have outlined together what a beautiful, mobile day in East Saxony will look like in 2030. And the best thing about this part of the structural development : we will not only present the finished solution in 2030 - no, from now on the transport companies, the transport association, local authorities, the research institutions and we at the ENO are there, the Vision 2030 step by step, meters for meters to implement.
The mobility of the future will be colorful and multimodal! A wide range of mobility offers and hubs are bundled at the "Lausitz stop" as a simple access point. This enables faster, smoother and intelligently networked access to and within the environmental network (this means, among other things, public transport, sharing offers, walking and cycling). In addition, there are spacious cycle paths to cover the last mile to the bus stop. In addition, taxi, ride, bike and car sharing as well as other attractive offers are combined at the Lausitz bus stop, including:
- Entertainment systems where information about signage and the environment can be obtained using AR/VR technology (virtual world, AI)
- Supply facilities for daily needs (cafe, magazines, shopping, etc.) as well as attractive waiting areas with quality of stay
- charging infrastructure
- Secure bicycle parking facilities
The future is really moving into rural areas: there will be a flexible cycle with an all-day offer (24/7), vehicles will also take goods with them and the whole thing will be climate-friendly and highly automated! Thanks to the improved networking between means of transport and between road and rail, vehicles can communicate with each other, transitions can be guaranteed and passenger flows can be recorded in order to further develop the offers as needed.
In addition to the wide range of offers, we have achieved a rethink by 2030 and the sharing economy is actually moving into the homely comfort zone: why own a car that stands around 23 hours a day and constantly generates costs? Significantly more citizens will be willing to share their own vehicle with others and someone else's vehicle pool . More offer - higher reliability - no more need to panic! This also increases the overall acceptance of the environmental association. Ride-sharing opportunities , citizens' buses and personal commitment are experiencing an upswing, as everyone wants to participate in the mobility revolution , because it's fun to share a vehicle with your neighbor or to travel together and thus strengthen the sense of community! (At least most of the time - and if not, just call the autonomous, hydrogen-based on-demand shuttle that is being developed in the WALEMObase in Görlitz!)
The tariff system in public transport will be significantly simplified - away from the "tariff jungle" and countless tickets from different providers to a mobility flat rate that is put together uniformly for customer requirements. We are also saying goodbye to the different apps and platforms and bundling - cheers to minimizing complexity! There is a common booking and information system that works for everyone and can also include "alternative travel offers" such as driving services or taxis. This means that the applications can be used easily by everyone, including people with disabilities. Nevertheless, there should continue to be mobility attendants as permanent contacts who can sometimes show you how to get on the bus safely with a wheelchair or who are simply on hand with advice and action.

"In order to outline this vision, an honest inventory was first necessary, and I'm really excited that we were all able to work towards this vision in such a target-oriented and structured manner." implementation of concrete structural and transport developments with strong partners is no secret.
Because she burns for it.
I remember well how I wanted to introduce her to our Plusmimus blog in her first week in the ENO, just over a year ago - and she said dismissively: "I'd rather talk about a mobility vision 2030 for Upper Lusatia, but we're not quite there yet." Congratulations that one summer later your dream could be put down on paper so concretely - and with a strong team - and that the first steps of implementation could be taken, dear Heike!
Best regards!
