Top Secret - 10 days ago the new mayor of Rothenburg, Philipp Eichler, and asked if I could represent him at an award ceremony in the Saxon state parliament. Of course I spontaneously agreed to it! On the one hand, as a city councillor, it is always something special when you can represent the mayor, and on the other hand, the motto of the award ceremony - the " Innovation Prize for Further Education" -
also a very special ENO topic! A nd since it is my primary task to support the municipalities in their work, I thought to myself: "Why not ? Are you going to Dresden.".

When I arrived in the state parliament, I spontaneously sat down in the front row - with a strange feeling: for a very short moment my subconscious thought and started to ponder what it would be like to be a member of the state parliament myself. The loud bang of a gong snapped me out of my thoughts, because the Dresden Music High School was part of the event and musically led through the program.

The very nice event for this year's innovation prize for further education was supported by the patron and state parliament president Dr. Matthias Rößler opened and the prizes were awarded the Saxon Minister of Education, Christian Piwarz .

The special thing about this year was that the award winners didn't yet know that they had been nominated for the award. So all participants were more or less surprised - and great and nice that this year two of the three winners come from the district of Görlitz .

Third place went to the Diakonie St. Martin in a joint project with the IBZ in Ostritz . The project is called Zeit.zeichen and is committed to democracy education for people with learning difficulties. It was awarded 8,000 euros. First place went to Löbau Leben eV Geistblitz project , an open workshop that inspires young people for modern future technologies and enables them to tackle their own do-it-yourself projects.
As a representative of the ENO, you are of course proud when the district can present two such innovative projects and then win prizes!

Together with my colleagues from the ENO, I wish you maximum success in the implementation and who knows, maybe next year a project from the Education Service Center of our development company will be on the stage as an award winner.
