Funding great projects in our district -
simul⁺Mitmachfonds - this year with almost 1000 submissions for regional development
The principle is as simple as it is good: Citizens, associations and companies, and of course cities and communities from all over Saxony, are invited by the simul⁺Mitmachfonds to participate in regional development with ideas and innovative concepts. After all, who should know better than the committed people on site what is needed to make the region fit for the future and suitable for grandchildren? There is no doubt that the concept has been well received: this year, 977 project ideas were submitted in the four categories Municipality , Cooperation , Project and ReWIR . We can already tell you in advance: more than half of them were awarded prizes! What a great success for our committed Saxon civil society - whose ideas are all impressive.
The project proposals submitted are intended to strengthen community life and social cohesion, promote social participation and equal opportunities, or strengthen innovation and networking at the regional interfaces between the population, business, public institutions and science. Projects that support education, lifelong learning and the transmission of values, for example, or contributions to overcoming regional challenges were also desired. To this end, it was called upon to develop ideas for the application of digital technologies for the common good as well as mobility solutions, citizen-oriented services and digital applications. And last but not least, contributions to art, culture and identity of the region as well as ideas to raise awareness of nature, the environment and the design of the living environment were sought.
The winners were announced at the end of September - 7.6 million euros will now be divided among the 545 best ideas. The Saxon Minister of State for Regional Development, Thomas Schmidt , explained: "The best ideas receive prize money of between 5,000 and 250,000 euros. A total of 7.6 million euros are available for the projects. This is how we honor the commitment, courage and drive of the actors to shape our regions innovatively and lively".
The submitted contributions were initially evaluated technically by a project team from the Saxon State Board of Trustees for Rural Areas (SLK). In the past few days, an experienced and interdisciplinary, independent jury then selected the best project ideas for the award.
And we are pleased to briefly mention the best from our district of Görlitz here and then to present them more and more in the following - after all, as a development company, our heart beats for regional development!
