Active search for teachers
The ENO supports schools in their search for teachers

In the spring we received a call for help from a school in the district of Görlitz - there is a lack of teachers, and a lot of lessons are cancelled.

Municipalities also report that their schools lack staff to cover the hours. Age-related departures are a challenge, as is the lack of young talent. Teachers are being sought all over Germany - but rural areas in particular are suffering from a lack of teachers. A survey by the TU Dresden from 2019 recorded the regional preferences of teaching graduates in Saxony. Just 3.3% (of 333 answers) stated that they wanted to apply for state school service in the district of Görlitz in Saxony. Of course, this number is far from enough to cover demand.

The ENO has therefore contacted the Saxon Ministry of Education in order to obtain more detailed information on the current marketing campaign ">Teachers-become-in-Saxony.
