Successful LCM network meeting - Together for the future of public transport
On November 30, 2023, the network meeting of the Lausitz Cluster Mobility took place in the Siemens Energy CoWorkingSpace in Görlitz, which focused on the future of local public transport in the region.
Over 40 enthusiastic participants from the districts of Görlitz and Bautzen , the local administration, the Saxon state ministries, transport planners and service providers gathered to discuss alternative approaches to public transport and present innovative projects.
The highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the mFUND project “PriMa plus ÖV” . Dr. Norbert Földi from the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure opened the presentation with a welcoming speech, followed by Christoph Mehnert , deputy managing director of the Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia Transport Association (VON). Mehnert emphasized the innovative power of the project for the region and looked forward to the collaboration.
The consortium, consisting of various partners, introduced itself, including Leif Soerensen from HAWK Holzminden , Dr. Felix Gündling from TU Darmstadt , Friedrich Bledl and Maike Bunsen from Interlink GmbH Berlin , Ilka Hunger from VON Bautzen, and Heike Schleussner and Isabell Klette from ENO Görlitz . Together they have set themselves the goal of integrating private mobility offers into the overall transport system in addition to public transport and thereby improving mobility participation in rural areas. For this purpose, an open-source platform for various offers is being created and tested by the BMDV through the mFund guideline. The platform will not only link private ride-sharing services, but also enable intermodal information, mobility participation, stakeholder participation and the expansion of scheduled public transport. A significant step towards making mobility in the region sustainable.
In addition to the active exchange between the participants, supporters and associated partners of the PriMa plus ÖV their practical examples for designing alternative forms of offering and on-demand systems in public transport . Dennis Steinke from BBG and Partner presented the public transport taxi in practice, Dr. Martin Benedict presented ERZmobil , Manuel Quinting spoke about the on-demand system MOBILE-FLEX , and Friedrich Bledl from Interlink GmbH explained PORAS , which takes the planning requirements of school transport into account.
In a final discussion round, the participants collected further implementation steps and experiences for integrating the PriMa plus public transport into the region. In the future, interested parties will be able to get involved in the project via the participation formats that will be carried out from 2024 and benefit from the development themselves. Specifically, carpooling (drivers and passengers), taxi, rental car and other driving service providers as well as companies with commercial fleets are being sought to take part.
The LCM network meeting was a complete success, underlining the collaboration and enthusiasm of everyone involved for the future of public transport in the region. We can look forward to the developments that these groundbreaking projects will bring with them.
