Final event for the 5G Forest Guard funding project
The final event of the “5G Forest Watcher” funding project will take place on December 12, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Rietschen Cinema ( Rothenburger Str. 2, 02956 Rietschen ). The project consortium cordially invites everyone interested.
The three-year research project aims to use a wide range of technologies such as ground sensors, high-resolution cameras, drones, AI-supported data analysis and networking these via 5G to protect and preserve our forests. The focus is on the early detection of forest fires and pest infestations (bark beetles).
At the final event, the project consortium will report on the progress and results of the project. The agenda includes the following program items:
- 2:00 p.m. - 2:10 p.m.: Opening
- 2:10-2:20 p.m.: Project idea
- 2:20-2:50 p.m.: Project activities
- 2:50-3:30 p.m.: Project results
- 3:20-3:30 p.m.: Q&A and transition to the marketplaces
- 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Marketplaces with information stands on the topics:
- Geospatial data and forest health
- Camera technology on the fire lookout towers (including AI)
- Drones (ROS control and AI)
- Soil sensors including bark beetle traps
- Smoke gas sensors
- Central crisis management server/AI
- AgriNose
- Background 5G
After an introductory lecture, visitors have the opportunity to find out about the technical details of the project at various information stands. There will also be one or two real products you can touch. The project consortium looks forward to sharing the results of the 5G Forest Guardian project with the public and presenting the contribution of these innovative technologies to modern forest protection.
