(Almost) every year again

We start every Monday morning as a team with SCHWUNG. SCH stands for nice things, W for workflow (what's up for the week), U for unresolved issues, N for annoying things and G for what you're looking for. One topic was dominant yesterday like no other.

Hidden feats of strength? 

The topic yesterday for many employees was "Star bike ride to Weißwasser". Next weekend we will visit the forest railway by bike. To be more precise, the museum station in Weißwasser. Before everyone gets on their bikes, we spend a few days or even weeks preparing for the day. Flyers, stickers and tour maps are buzzing through the aisles everywhere. The checklist is almost endless. In 2020 the event could not take place due to the pandemic. 2021 it starts again. However, the conditions and requirements are a lot higher than "in normal years". And we also have innovations - you are cordially invited to collect the stamps digitally...  

Who keeps track here? 

It is unthinkable for someone like me to organize such an event. i'm too impatient I'm also no organizational talent for such tasks. I get frustrated and hectic far too quickly. My thanks go especially to Maja and Isabell. Maja has been with the ENO since December 2006. Tourism is her thing. In the past few years, she has managed to get many cooperations in the district off the ground. The votes in the district and in Upper Lusatia are also running professionally. I only get information about this in the Monday meetings - that's a very good sign. Of course there are moments of stress. These are usually more common than rare. But Maja stays friendly, polite and still helpful. Great features. Isabell stands at Maja's side. Only a few weeks back from parental leave and right in the middle of the preparations for the coming weekend. Well organized as well as Maja. You can tell they've both done it before. They can also withstand setbacks or open questions. You just keep going. The quality of the event is always the yardstick in view. And that is very high.  

Why two days? 

The 19th Star Bike Ride will take place on June 12th AND 13th, 2021. The concept has been adapted to the general situation. More effort for everyone, but still an important signal. I hope many of you are there. Whether from Hradek nad Nisou or Forst - we have the destination Weißwasser. And since larger events are currently difficult, this year the invitation is valid for everyone for two days. The forest railway is a tourist highlight in the district. We look forward to your visit. Now it's time to keep your fingers crossed that the weather cooperates. Stay healthy and let's go to the Muskau forest railway :)  

And of course a big thank you to all the helpers from the ENO team and the district of Görlitz, who were there on both days. Without you none of this would work out.
