Apprentices who talk enthusiastically about their job. Prospective specialists who have clearly decided in favor of a future in their home country . Young people who do not make their career choice dependent on money. In the last three months I have met 35 young people who have made me feel optimistic. The next generation of bright minds and skilled doers is in the starting blocks. Soon she will be actively involved in shaping our district .
But first things first
In October, 6,500 copies of the new INSIDERATLAS distributed to all schools in the district. 120 training companies present themselves on 160 pages. Overall, the training atlas shows career prospects in 220 training occupations and numerous courses in your home country. A small ENO editorial team is responsible for the content and graphic design. As a special service, we also support companies in creating trainee portraits and the associated photos. I particularly like this job.
Variety of professions to touch
30 companies were on my tour schedule this year. From Bad Muskau to Zittau and from Oppach to Rothenburg, I criss-crossed the district with my laptop and camera. I talked to prospective construction equipment operators, nursing staff, cooks, hotel managers, road builders, mechatronics technicians, metal and plastic machinists, notary clerks and construction mechanics, among others. Even a future ropemaker was there.
The young people we spoke to were as varied as the spectrum of occupations. Some immediately chatted away. With others, I needed a bit of patience until the “yes” and “no” ended up becoming whole sentences. However, they all had one thing in common: They were rock-solid about their profession and they were convinced that they could use their strengths and skills optimally in their future job. Many took advantage of the opportunity to get to know the profession and the training company better during an internship or a holiday job. Some discovered their strengths at “Komm auf Tour” exciting companies at “SCHAU REIN!” “Check den Job” . And almost everyone used our INSIDERATLAS or made initial contacts INSIDERTREFF This shows me again and again that our career orientation measures are now well established in the district. That makes me a little proud too.
I will end my tour with the Diakonie St. Martin The new INSIDERATLAS will go to press in September so that the students can leaf through it again in October. The stories can of course also be read online at www.insider-goerlitz.de
Best regards,
