4,000 visitors at the INSIDERTREF

A complete success for training and studying at home

On May 25, 2024, the 10th INSIDER MEETING of the Görlitz district took place in the Löbau trade fair park. The central trade fair for training and studies attracted over 4,000 visitors and offered students from the seventh grade onwards the opportunity to find out about the diverse career prospects in their home country.

More than 150 training companies, vocational schools and the Zittau/Görlitz University presented over 200 training occupations and numerous study programs. From 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., the young visitors had the opportunity to talk to human resources managers and find out about their dream careers. The fair also offered numerous participation opportunities where young people were able to gain practical insights into various professional fields. Current trainees and students reported on their everyday working and studying lives at the stands.

The diversity of professions on the exhibition grounds was impressive: ten different sectors were represented, including crafts, industry, health, trade, tourism, IT, services and public services. In the open-air area, farmers and the construction trade in particular presented themselves with impressive technology. Many exhibitors relied on intensive discussions and clear communication of content. Saskia Heublein, head of the education service department at the Niederschlesische Oberlausitz mbH development company, was enthusiastic: “I am overwhelmed by the exhibitors' offers to participate. The professionalism and diligence with which they design their trade fair stands and convey the training content deserves great respect.”

In addition to the training companies, the district's vocational school centers, the BA Bautzen and other educational providers also presented. The Zittau/Görlitz University impressively showcased its courses in the Flower Hall. Saskia Heublein praised the presentation: “It was once again impressive what the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has set up in the flower hall. Anyone interested in science, research and new technologies could spend hours with the university's various faculties.” BA Bautzen, TU Dresden and research-oriented companies such as Siemens Energy, Zeiss and NTT Data also exhibited in the flower hall.

The INSIDERTREFF sees itself as a trade fair for career orientation and supports all school graduates who are still looking for a training or study place. The last minute training place exchange at the information point was in high demand. Overall, the organizers were very satisfied with the young people's interest in the trade fair. “We are pleased about the great response. With the 4,000 visitors, we were able to welcome 1,000 more visitors than last year,” said Saskia Heublein.

During the trade fair, young visitors were asked about their criteria when looking for a training position. 69 percent of those surveyed would like to stay in the Görlitz district and see their professional future in their home country. 20 percent are still unsure, and only 11 percent are planning to move away for study or training. These figures speak for the attractiveness of training in the Görlitz district and in Upper Lusatia.

The next INSIDER MEETING will take place on May 10, 2025. Saskia Heublein is optimistic: “We would like to see a similarly large number of exhibitors and visitors next year.”

The INSIDERTREFF is an event in the Görlitz district, organized by the #education service of the development company Niederschlesische Oberlausitz mbH. .The INSIDERTREFF is carried out in cooperation with the Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Dresden Chamber of Crafts, the Görlitz District Crafts Association, the Bautzen Employment Agency and the Görlitz District Job Center as well as with the support of the Sparkasse Oberlausitz Niederschlesien.
