Under the motto “Growing into school”, teaching students at TU Dresden can now complete their internship alongside their studies exclusively at schools in the Görlitz district.
Together with Professor Anke Langner , professor at the Institute of Educational Sciences at the TU Dresden, the chairman of our district's parent council, Mr. Ronald Lindecke , developed the innovative concept for early and continuous practical use. As a university of excellence, the TU Dresden particularly assumes its social responsibility for the structurally changing region of Lausitz and its students.
The prospective teachers benefit from the better integration of theory and practice, the continuity of mentors and supervised school classes as well as financial recognition - the students and teachers from additional, highly motivated staff as well as more individual support and additional learning formats and the mentors from interns who are better distributed in terms of time . An initial pilot phase with 14 students at schools in Weißwasser and Zittau was so successful that it is now being rolled out to other schools in the district with up to 160 students. In order to attract the appropriate number of students, a separate campaign EduFusion “TeacherMania,” the campus festival for teacher training students . The project receives support not only from the school communities in the Görlitz district but also from cross-party members of the Saxon state parliament.
