A good tradition

A good tradition

A good tradition

It's a good "tradition" that we take a day out of everyday life once a year. Often we invite guests and share the day. Part 1 is a technical discussion on a topic. Different from year to year. Part 2 is getting together - preferably with one or more guests. The conversation on neutral ground. Laughing with colleagues who you might not see every day in everyday life.

2021 - our team day

At the beginning of September it was said "we will meet in Petershain". In principle, nothing is announced in advance. The direction of march this year was "drive to the meeting point, there you can see how to get there. Please also bring rubber boots and a change of clothes with you". The appointment blocker is usually sent to everyone in the second quarter. Everyone knew from previous years that there were two parts again. What did the boss come up with again? Many questions came to me directly or indirectly through Katrin. Wild speculation (and hey – good ideas for the years to come) circulated in the aisles and at the lunch table. Excellent. So how did it really go?

I have decided that the technical part and complicated stations in 2021 are not the right instruments. Precisely because many direct consultations have failed and fortunately we were able to welcome many new colleagues. The meeting point was then a small island near the community. Everything we needed was prepared on the island. Enough space and food. In the middle of nature - that's it. Oh - and a big campfire. The bags were packed, the question "what's going to happen today" within reach. My hope was that there would be direct talks. With rolls, cakes and coffee, it has to run by itself. Lo and behold. It's worked out. Everyone got into a conversation somehow. Just my ENO 😊

I didn't necessarily want to do without one element. To the guest. A guest who tells us something about his story or his topic. Perhaps join us in the discussion. In addition to the incomparable place on the peninsula near Petershain, I was very happy that Armin Kittner took the time for us on the day. Also an incomparable guy. He tells his story in an entertaining manner and always lined with gags. What was the reason for breeding sturgeons? How did his fish get the name Emma? Why is the yield per hectare significantly higher than on other, similar farms? It's more than just a fishing business. Armin Kittner goes through the world with open eyes. Wherever there is supposed to be a niche, he grabs it. Don't be fooled. Rather, where it makes sense for him in his business world. In the meantime, several companies belong to his area. From the haulage company to plastics processing. Everyone was spellbound. That was my goal. There are stories like this all over the county. We have to find them, use them and consider how more can be added.

Armin Kittner guided us through "his kingdom" all day long (also with practical fishing lessons). I haven't seen so much fish for a long time, but it was entertaining and in a very good atmosphere. The Kittner family's latest project also wanted to be viewed. Block houses have been standing on the outskirts of Petershain for a short time . Log homes for rent. A perfect addition to the tourist offers in the region. Ines Kittner did magic in the details. You can see that when you set up or soon start using a barbecue house. Everything is somehow logical again. Someone just has to do it. And the family does it. I can recommend you - just take a look at the homepage and the houses in live.

Our day was then very relaxed. Walked "a lot" (for some it was a lot, for others not so much), talked to each other even more. Ate good. We also used the two boats. This is how smaller groups came about. All the announcements about what to bring and the many performances weren't that bad. Only Uwe took the change of clothes he had brought with him at their word. Announced - done, that's how you could describe it. With the clear intention of taking a refreshing bath, he set off by boat and kept his word.
