Our colleague Maja Daniel-Rublack, head of the tourism service point, is looking forward to Saturday, June 4th, 2022 - because then the "cycling success story", the Sternradfahrt in the district of Görlitz, will celebrate its 20th birthday. Since its premiere in 2002, the Sternradfahrt has grown steadily and now has participants not only from the entire district, but from all of Upper Lusatia, Brandenburg, Poland and the Czech Republic. A total of tens of thousands have cycled over the years, with the highest number of participants in 2018 being around 3,500 people.  

In order for the event, which the ENO is organizing on behalf of the district, to be a complete success, Maja and some colleagues have been thinking about how to celebrate and honor this anniversary appropriately for the last year. 

We came to the conclusion: "We need the help of the star cyclists" smiles Maja. 

For example, there should be an anniversary brochure in which the destinations, their special features, but also personal anecdotes from the cyclists can be found.  

Who remembers the worst downpours and the most creative ways to escape them on the open road? 

Does anyone else know how it all began at the Erlichthof - the destination of the 2022 anniversary star bike ride?

Is there perhaps a family whose children grew up as fans and couldn't wait to finally pedal themselves? 

Or a pair of lovers who met for the first time during the Sternradfahrt, be it in the cycling group, in the rain shelter or at the destination? 

How did it happen that some groups grew from year to year?

...and other events worth telling. 

What were your very
special , personal, funny, bizarre or exuberant situations that make the individual Star Bike Rides a very special memory?

"We're looking forward to every letter," explains Maja, who has been working for the annual success of the largest bike tour in the Görlitz district for 15 years.  

"In addition to the anniversary brochure, in 2022 all the participants who have regularly taken part in the star cycle tour and/or who may also have a milestone anniversary to celebrate should be honored." she wishes.  

 Therefore, we are now looking for participants who have cycled at least 10 times and cyclists who are celebrating their 20th, 15th, 10th or 5th anniversary.

 "We would like to show our appreciation to the fans and supporters of the Sternradfahrt, of which there are many brave, wind and weather-resistant ones, and we have thought of something nice. We are therefore happy about every message." 

Photos are also sought, especially from the early years, or newspaper articles, which are of course returned by the ENO after they have been photographed.
