From ice hockey pro to family doctor

Sebastian Klenner is committed to Weißwasser

A lot is possible in the ice hockey town of Weißwasser. This becomes clear again with the example of Sebastian Klenner.

As a successful ice hockey pro, he left town a few years ago. Now he's coming back as a family doctor. His heart still beats for his hometown and for the Lusatian foxes. That's why he was very happy to be the face of a campaign launched by the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Saxony, the city of Weißwasser and the EHC "Lausitzer Foxes". With the enthusiasm especially for the "Lausitz Foxes" the attention of medical students or doctors in further training should be drawn to the Weißwasser region. “In my opinion, it is extremely important to be committed to the region and to show that things are moving forward. Studying medicine and working as a "country doctor" has been my childhood dream. There are a lot of people who depend on help from our healthcare system," says Sebastian Klenner, explaining his commitment. The former national ice hockey player from Weißwasser studied medicine in Dresden after ending his professional career and will now return to his home country as a doctor in further training, where ten of the 19 general practitioner positions are currently vacant.

The service point Unpayableland of the ENO was involved in the implementation of the campaign. Our filmmaker Christian Fietze has produced three trailers that will be shown during the Foxes' games in the stadium and in the live streams. One of these films has also been included on the KV Sachsen campaign website.

"The story gave more than just 30-second spots," reports Christian. "It would have been a pity not to use the existing material for a longer film." And so he sat down again at the editing suite and produced a 3-minute version, which will now be promoted on the Unpayableland website for the health professions.
