Returnees enrich the district

Who would have thought. In recent years there have been an increasing number of initiatives and, above all, good stories about people coming back to our region. What is behind such stories?
When is the right time?
From my point of view, there are many events in life planning that are either never or actually always "just right". This also includes decisions on questions such as "what do I want to do after school?" connected with "and where?" There are also many stories in my circle of acquaintances that after school the path led to the world outside the district. And then there are also more recent stories where the decision was actively made to come back. All reasons are always unique. Every decision has its own reasons.
Does a return make sense?
Of course I have to write at this point "of course - nice that you're back!". But this is not just a phrase. I myself am such a returnee - okay, that was 15 years ago - but at least my wife and I have it in our CV. Impressions - wherever in the world - are always enriching, sharpen the view for personal attitudes and also help to find a focus. It is precisely those impressions, attitudes or ideas that we need in the district. Here, too, it is important not to stand still, but to actively shape the future.
And why am I writing this?
We in the ENO have dealt with many returnee stories in recent years. You can read most of them here . But the story of Martin Schröter inspired my thoughts today. He told us what motivated him to come back to Niesky from Bolivia and start his own company here. You can find his story on page 116 of our new business brochure . Enjoy reading.
