Starting signal for the study "Hydrogen Network Central Germany 2.0"
Appeal: Looking for online companies participating in the hydrogen network study
" We, the development company of the district of Görlitz, are very pleased to be taking part in this forward-looking study and call on all companies in the district to get involved, " explains Heike Schleussner , team leader of the task force that is responsible for structural development at the development company Niederschlesische Oberlausitz (ENO). in the context of the coal phase-out.
In addition to potential route corridors and their connection to the national and European hydrogen network, the future needs for green hydrogen and potential sources of generation in the region are also being examined. The participation of the district of Görlitz in the study " Hydrogen Network Central Germany 2.0 " takes into account the great popularity that the 3rd Hydrogen Forum Oberlausitz "In this way we can also meet our long-term claim of remaining a strong energy region and call on all companies in the district to participate and to position themselves for the future together with our strong partners," explains Heike Schleussner. Companies can register to participate here .
On behalf of 54 private and public partners, the European Metropolitan Region of Central Germany , the hydrogen network HYPOS , DBI Gas- und Umwelttechnik GmbH and INFRACON Infrastructure Service GmbH & Co. KG conducted their joint study for a regional hydrogen distribution network in the federal states of Saxony, Saxony -Anhalt and Thuringia started. As a partner for the district of Görlitz, the ENO is entrusted with inviting and supervising the companies in the region to take part in this study.
Building on the basic study " Hydrogen Network Central Germany " published on April 22, 2022, the new study will significantly expand the previous study area Leipzig-Halle-Leuna-Bitterfeld and include large parts of the federal states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. In several work packages, potential users of green hydrogen and their future needs as well as the generation potential for green electricity in the region, especially through wind and solar parks, are identified. In addition, the study will examine possible route corridors for a large-scale hydrogen distribution network in Central Germany, which is closely integrated into the national hydrogen core network planned from 2032 and the European Hydrogen Backbone in order to ensure the import of green hydrogen for regional consumers. The planning takes into account hydrogen infrastructure projects that have already been planned, such as " Green Octopus Mitteldeutschland ", " Doing Hydrogen ", " TH2ECO " as well as local projects such as the " H2-Hub-BLK ". In addition, the financing and economic viability of the transnational infrastructure project and the legal framework are also components of the study. The results are expected to be presented to the public in spring 2024. The responsible ministers of the central German federal states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia welcome the cross-state project and emphasize the importance of the energy source " green hydrogen " for the future viability of the regional economy: "We need green hydrogen for the energy transition and climate neutrality - precisely because we have a Energy and industrial region are and want to remain. Therefore, we are building a hydrogen economy in which the gas is produced, transported, stored and used. A powerful network is crucial for this. I am pleased that the relevant regional players from business, energy supply, the public sector and network operators are coming together here to systematically determine the potential and needs of the regional connection and the regional networks and thus advance the topic," said Wolfram Günther, Minister of State for Energy, climate protection, environment and agriculture in the Free State of Saxony.
We look forward to your participation!
