Talk to each other instead of talking about each other: A special evening in Lausitz.
The topic of ecological and regional nutrition with a low CO2 footprint is of concern to more and more people, including in our region.
Our project manager Anja Nixdorf-Munkwitz is involved in a variety of things - not only with her heart project, the " Basket of Happiness ", but also with the new land winners . She reports on “an evening full of insights and exchange” at the Kulturfabrik Meda last week, where knowledgeable Lusatian farmers gathered to discuss the future of “edible Lusatia”.
The event, which had the motto "Quo vadis edible Lausitz", was part of one of Anja's new land-winning projects, which focuses on communication and exchange between people who might not otherwise meet.
The hosts of this special evening were the Fritsche/Haase nursery , Solawi Heckenhof , the Kunack farm and the landscape conservation association "Zittauer Gebirge und Vorland" eV . Together they invited people to the Kulturfabrik Meda and later filled the cinema to capacity.
The evening began with a culinary prelude in which the delicious Lausitz was presented. The focus was on vegetables, which were also discussed Das Kombinat ” The film highlighted various forms of management and participation in agriculture and encouraged viewers to think.
Following the film, visitors were given the opportunity to share their impressions and questions in a discussion group. A lively exchange arose in which “we finally talked to each other again instead of about each other,” as Anja reports. Topics ranged from the role of rural areas as pantries and homes to the challenges and potential these areas offer.
The event impressively demonstrated how important dialogue and mutual understanding are in order to recognize and use the diverse opportunities in Lusatia (also in this area). A special thank you that Anja would like to express goes to everyone involved for this challenging and inspiring evening, which, as she says, "will certainly have an impact for a long time." And which also promotes the exchange between participants in the long term - the topic of “rural areas” is “simply too exciting,” emphasizes Anja. Because they are “pantry, home, problem and huge potential. At the same time!”.
Anyone who would like to find out more about “edible Lusatia” and put more “good things from the region” on their dinner table and support regional agriculture will also have the opportunity to do so after this inspiring evening - as well as network with like-minded people . In the Görlitzer Marktschwärmerei , for example, you can order healthy food from the region and pick it up on Thursdays.
The producers certify that the purchase only travels an average of 40 km. In the online shop you will find a unique selection of regional products and when you pick them up you can even get to know the people who make them.
Also interesting: you can find an exciting film by our Unbezahlbarland team about the green professions in the Görlitz district here - and here you can find the "green" training companies in the region .
Best regards!
Your Anja Nixdorf-Munkwitz & Jasna Zajcek
