Heike, from July 1st you will be working Department 47 for structural development, economically relevant environmental and energy issues at the Saxon State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport What motivated you to make this change?

These experiences helped me to further develop my strengths and better understand the different requirements and expectations. With my past as a company founder, research assistant and project manager in a public company, I have now gained valuable insights from various perspectives.

Impressions from three years of ENO
ENO managing director Sven Mimus was very positive about your collaboration.
"It was fun to work with Heike Schleussner and after a short time to entrust her with the leadership of the 11-person STARK team for structural development. The results of the project speak volumes - sensational! Heike Schleussner is one of these people - energetic, inspiring and energetic - We need people like that in our region. Of course, such a departure is always not pleasant. But Ms. Schleussner and I spoke openly and honestly about the reasons. I am of course always happy about exciting future prospects as a speaker in Department 47 Structural Development, Economically Relevant Environmental and Energy Issues - that sounds good. We have a new partner in Dresden on the topics that we would like to continue to work on actively. And she also promised me that we would We'll see each other every now and then. I wish Heike Schleussner all the best!"
Heike Schleussner: It was also a pleasure for me to work with Sven Mimus. His support and the trust he placed in me were crucial to my success at ENO. I will always remember the collaboration and the valuable experiences I had there.

How do you see future cooperation between authorities, business and other actors?
Heike Schleussner: My work at ENO showed me how important cross-institutional collaboration is. The different actors often speak different languages and the communication of important content is sometimes lost. I learned that seemingly simple problems are usually much more complex and that it is crucial to involve all relevant stakeholders. Different interests require compromises to find sustainable solutions. In today's complex times, cooperation is crucial. Everyone needs to sit down at the table with their partners instead of working in their own silos and questioning who is to blame. I look forward to bringing this collaborative attitude to my new role and tackling the challenges together.

How do you feel about the idea of now working in Dresden, where you live?
I'm really looking forward to working in Dresden and leaving the organizational challenges of long commutes behind me. In my new role in the SMWA, I have the opportunity to address problems at the level of the Free State of Saxony. I hope that I can contribute my experiences well to the work of the Saxon State Ministry and, among other things, make the challenges of the Görlitz district clear at a higher level and continue to work for the region.
Thank you, Heike, for the interview and good luck in your new position!
