Hydrogen Forum Oberlausitz: successful kick-off event with more than 60 participants!
, more than 60 stakeholders who are interested in expanding the breathing through hydrogen network Upper Lusatia met at the 1st Hydrogen Forum in Upper Lusatia.
At the invitation of the organizing team, consisting of ENO, Gedes eV , Fraunhofer IWU , Siemens Energy and the enterprise europe network we met on the Siemens innovation campus - once again, a big thank you for the great organization at this point!
In addition to regional companies, municipal energy suppliers and research institutions from the districts of Görlitz and Bautzen , stakeholders and interested parties from all over Saxony also came. dr Katrin Seddig, consultant in the Saxon State Ministry for Energy, Climate Protection, Environment and Agriculture , was pleased with the initiative and emphasized the importance of the Saxon hydrogen strategy and the role of hydrogen in Saxony .
ENO project developer Heike Schleussner , who was one of the leaders in planning the 1st Hydrogen Forum, gave a splendid and stirring introduction - after our managing director Sven Mimus , in his nonchalant manner, told those who are not yet quite familiar with high-tech processes or who are up to Forum were not yet, the fear of the new challenges took away. He motivated - true to the internal ENO motto: just do it!
"I'm thrilled that all the companies and institutions involved are behind the idea with great interest and commitment and are now proceeding with the continuation and establishment of this new format with the same enthusiasm," says Heike happily. "It was time to lay the foundation for the exchange and to convey the district's goals and plans." In addition, the overview of competences in the Saxon Lausitz was presented, as well as funding and financing options for green infrastructure - not to be neglected, because the Development of new technologies is not least a question of costs. The feedback from the participants was consistently positive.
Based on the existing competencies that Siemens Energy, Fraunhofer IWU, GEDES eV, enterprise europe network and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences already have as partners of the hydrogen forum, the merger is promising and has happened at a very high technical level. We are already looking forward to the intensification and continuation of the forum in autumn!
Technological innovations in the field of hydrogen are to be implemented with the established partnerships and interest groups. In the areas of production and transport of hydrogen, too, joint research is being carried out, planned and implemented in the not too distant future. The participating actors therefore determined the interests, needs and solutions in and for Upper Lusatia. Many explained that the format represents an ideal platform for knowledge transfer and exchange.
These are all very important steps in the structure development process! Because one thing is clear: due to the phasing out of lignite-fired power generation, alternative sources of energy generation are necessary in order to guarantee the energy supply in the future. The current challenge is the switch from a centralized to a decentralized energy supply and the associated network bottlenecks for the feed-in of electricity. Hydrogen production can be a solution, among other things, to cushion these feed-in bottlenecks and give companies the opportunity to make their production processes climate-neutral.
