The 20th Star Bike Ride in the district of Görlitz took place on the Pentecost weekend. Traditionally organized by the ENO on behalf of the district, it became a huge success after the long Corona break. Despite the bad weather at first, hundreds flocked to the Erlichthof Rietschen , where the cyclists were greeted and entertained with a great programme.
District Administrator Bernd Lange, supporter and himself an enthusiastic star cyclist, honored long-standing participants and was honored himself. This and much more (also what it looks like behind the scenes of the star bike ride at the ENO) here - take a look at our photo blog!
For the men of the ENO, the day of the Star Bike Ride traditionally begins with the construction of the large bicycle parking lot. Here you can see (from left to right) project manager Uwe Garack with Thomas Rublack , head of the economic department of the district and managing director of the Rothenburg OL airfield and project manager Lars Semrok.
Meanwhile the first participants start in Görlitz...
...among the participants is of course district administrator Bernd Lange, who has been at almost every star cycle tour so far. ENO service center manager Ingo Goschütz from the #unbezahlbarland is there as always and photographs and films (almost) everything that is on two wheels in the district that day.
Meanwhile, the exhibition on 20 years of star cycling was set up at the Erlichthof
On the free route, Ingo meets participants who have all their collected Sternradfahrt certificates with them and are proud to show them off:
Meanwhile, the first star cyclists are already arriving at the Erlichthof destination - of course in the best of moods!
Great interest in the district tent: here you can find out about everything - especially about the cycle paths in the region, but also about everything else that makes us so special, and find out the latest news.
District administrator Lange comes to the finish, accompanied by friendly district administrators. It's getting so crowded that the ENO men have to go back to set up more benches (although the ENO women had been busy setting up dozens of beer bench sets all morning!). Here, ENO project manager Henry Poppitz casually pushes a bank through the finish line.
Welcome committee at the finish: The ENO team exudes (and has) a good mood
And the ENO team at the destination stamp point is also happy about the large number of participants
Sternradfahrt project manager Maja Daniel-Rublack (in the background) has come up with something very special for the outgoing district administrator Lange: a personal district administrator plaque, which Thomas Rublack, head of the economic department, ceremoniously presents:
The 88-year-old Mr. Windler, who completed his 18th star cycle tour today, was also honored - his motto: "Exercise keeps you young - you have to challenge yourself a bit sometimes". We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you once again and we are happy about the continued enthusiasm for the Sternradfahrt and hope to see you again next year!
A cozy get-together with a well-deserved cold drink
And yet another honor that was particularly important to head of the district development office As an employee of ArTour Rietschen, he has been involved in the planning of all star cycle tours and tour guides since 2002. "Without his calm, matter-of-fact manner, his passion for the cause and his commitment, the Sternradfahrt would not be what it is today," reports Maja Daniel-Rublack about the recently deceased Hans Jürgen Kürscher, the "forefather of the Sternradfahrt". Therefore, as part of the 20th Sternradfahrt, a circular route named after him will be dedicated to him. At a rest area along the route, he is also remembered with a commemorative plaque.
While dozens of other participants cycled to the Erlichthof, the youngsters from the Carnival Club Rietschen eV demonstrated their skills:
The ENO team would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the keen interest in the 20th Star Bike Ride and will soon start the first round of planning for number 21 - because we all know: after the Star Bike Ride is before the Star Bike Ride!
We hope to see you again next year - place and time will be announced in good time!
Many warm greetings!
Your ENO team
