Invitation to the 21st Star Cycle Tour of the Görlitz district: A celebration for cycling fans!

It's clear: the Sternradfahrt is an event that has developed into a highlight for cycling enthusiasts in our region . This year the destination of the trip is the picturesque Olbersdorfer See , which participants can reach on eight different routes. eight different route lengths, the event offers the right distance for young and old and promises an unforgettable experience for all participants.

And don't forget: bathing suits! Because Lake Olbersdorf invites you to take a refreshing swim after a strenuous journey.

The tours vary significantly in difficulty and length to suit the varying needs and abilities of cyclists. One of the most demanding routes begins in Bad Muskau and stretches over an impressive 111.5 km. The route from Rietschen with 83.5 km is also a real challenge and demands a lot from the participants. If you prefer something a little more relaxed, you can choose the circuit around Lake Olbersdorf, which at 36.5 km is a shorter but still attractive option. You can find the overview map here .

3 stamps ensure participation in the raffle

44 stamp points available to cyclists As always, participants can have their participation passes stamped there and enjoy not only the relaxation of the break, but often small snacks and sometimes also real regional delicacies. Anyone who has collected at least three stamps qualifies to take part in the popular raffle at the finish point - draw at 4:30 p.m.!

The stamps can also be collected digitally using the specially developed stamp office app. You can download the app from May 27th on the official Sternradfahrt website .

To enable stress-free navigation, the tours are signposted at important intersections and danger spots, but can also downloaded here as a GPX track . Maja Daniel-Rublack , the head of the ENO Tourism Service Office, who is traditionally responsible for everything organizational related to the star bike ride, recommends downloading the tracks and using them during the ride. “This definitely makes planning and carrying out the trip easier.” she explains. “The partner of the Star Wheel ride this year is the Kraj Liberec ,” adds Maja, emphasizing the international character of the Star Wheel ride. “In the past, the Czech and Polish tours were very well received and we hope to see many cyclists from the border triangle this year too.”

varied program awaits participants at the finish point at Lake Olbersdorf . Various exhibitors present their products and services relating to cycling, and your physical well-being is also well taken care of. A special highlight this year is the opening of a new pump track, a specially designed mountain bike route that will delight both beginners and experienced bikers.

What awaits us at the destination?

Music, fun and entertainment (and almost the entire ENO team, who take care of the construction and much more from the early hours of the morning - especially the men from ENO, who build the huge bicycle parking lot in no time)!

The program starts at 10 a.m.

The grand opening of the new pump track will take place from 12 p.m.

This will be followed by a dance performance by the Funkengarde Olbersdorf from 1.15 p.m., while the Blubberey walking act show and "Verzauberey" with giant soap bubbles will run across the area from 1 p.m.

From 2:30 p.m., participants can experience a circus ball hula hoop show with the magical Kathi.

Thalia Jonsdorf will present dance and singing from Upper Lusatia from 3:15 p.m.

SachsenEnergie AG mobile also offers crafts, games and fun for the whole family. Partners of the Sternradfahrt, including the organizer of the Görlitz district with its tourist facilities, the Zittau narrow-gauge railway and the Lausitz Festival, will also present themselves. The German-Czech project “Star bike ride to Olbersdorf – borderless through the border triangle” is being realized with funds from the European Union as part of the European Regional Development Fund and with the support of the Neisse Euroregion. This cross-border commitment underlines the importance of international cooperation and cultural exchange in the region.

no return options by bus this year . Despite intensive efforts to organize the use of bicycle buses, it was decided not to pass on the high costs to the cyclists after the long-standing sponsor disappeared. Therefore, participants are recommended to use the Trilex and ODEG trains for the return journey.
