ULtra great

Company visits are one thing. A lot is exciting. The conversations are often very personal. So here in the blog a few lines about a great meeting that Thomas Rublack and I had arranged to meet with the brothers Alexander and Stefan Jakschik at ULT AG in Kittlitz. From the beginning the atmosphere was friendly. An open welcome - already announced on the monitor in the entrance area.

history, but only briefly

Both brothers explained the history and core competencies of the company to us in a few sentences. That's something to be proud of. A strong company with around 130 employees started in 1994 with courage and a wealth of ideas. dr Ing. Christian Jakschik has set out to conquer the world with suction and filter technology as well as drying technology. Okay, maybe not the world right away. But he made it. Today, ULT AG is modern, has received multiple awards and combines both technologies. Corona somehow made the business field visible to all of us. Particles that we neither see nor smell have to be cleaned from the air. In industry, in schools and in countless variations. I think Stefan and Alex jump nervously at my profane description.

Not just business as usual

Like many companies, ULT AG is involved in the region, tries to get involved and goes well beyond pro-forma campaigns. And here I want to pick out one thing. The two are well networked and try to shape future collaborations with other companies and the university. Both drive projects such as Lausitz - Life and Technology ( https://www.hszg.de/forschung/transferprojects/wir ) from the federal program WIR! What can we optimize? How can we strengthen the economy? How can technology transfer succeed? We can only discuss all these questions with companies. Neither politicians alone nor companies can do that for themselves.

There were incredibly profound questions about our innovation team. What are we doing there? How can companies take advantage of this? What starting points are there? After a lively consultation we agree - that can and must only have been a beginning. Stefan and Alex expect concrete next steps. We have agreed. In the near future we will be sitting at the table once again to update the WIR! application. The business cards have been exchanged and it won't stop there...

I would be very happy to keep you up to date.
