First, it's different...

... and second than you think. Around 1:30 p.m. I postponed my blog topic, which was originally planned for today. Because at that time I read the e-mail from Mrs. Köhler. And this contained a joyful disposition.

One after another

In May we set out and applied for funding for an idea. May 2021 mind you. That's why I didn't even expect feedback 😊 The content of the funding project is the modernization of the permanent and special exhibition rooms in the Markersdorf village museum.  We applied for 50,000 euros. And today the positive message about the funding came digitally!

Markersdorf is the house in the association , which implements by far the most educational projects in the year. School classes and after-school care facilities in particular are regular guests. Together we explore the rural way of life as it was 100 years ago.  The approximately 250-year-old four-sided courtyard makes it possible for us to experience a seemingly bygone time again. We try our best to design the rooms as if the family would come back at any time. This also includes the animal roommates, regional apple varieties in the meadow and also a school from around 1900.

What can we do now?

We applied for a whole series of smaller measures. The furniture in the main house is increasingly being attacked by pests. That's not ideal. Let's keep the original substance. That's why we will now be able to attach insect screens to the windows very pragmatically via the project. The exhibition texts would like to be revised. There will be more to read about the former owner family, the design will be revised. We will then provide all texts virtually on a display in 4 languages. This fits in perfectly with our existing audio guides. You can then view non-existent objects using 3D scans. The permanent exhibition in the buildings is also supplemented by special exhibitions.  The project is rounded off by the purchases that are now possible, especially high-quality showcases.

Thanks to the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture for the support!
