Hello!
The LEX, the Lausitz start-up competition, was held for the 17th time last week. The history of LEX is a success story: thanks to the commitment of young entrepreneurs, sponsors and network partners, over 1000 jobs have been created and maintained in Lusatia since 2004.

In these 17 years, 300 companies have been managed from scratch to become self-employed. The results of the LEX show consistently: that the future of Lusatia is made in Lusatia and that the company founders make a significant contribution to the economic strength of our homeland.

Together with the network partners, the Berlin-Brandenburg business plan competition and the Saxon innovation platform futureSAX Wirtschaftsinitiative Lausitz eV, is responsible for the implementation, offers those who want to set up their own business support, support and qualifications on their way to self-employment in Lusatia. One of the special features of the LEX: With careful planning, the participants can improve their chances of success and reduce their entrepreneurial risk. The speakers, coaches and jurors from the LEX as well as the Lausitz business initiative are ready to motivate everyone to take the first step towards independence and to support them in realizing their business ideas.

On September 2nd, 2021 it was time again: the winners were honored in the Confiserie Felicitas in Hornow. The Lausitz business initiative, as the organizer, awarded four prizes for the "Best Business Concept" and prize money totaling 13,000 euros. There was a special feature this year: two 3rd places were awarded.

We too thought the winning business ideas were so great that we would like to present them here!

The 1st prize - 5,000 euros - donated by the ILB this year went to a company that makes the heart of every car camper beat faster. Campeleon GmbH from Rossendorf turns the laborious assembly of an individual camper, van or minibus into digital fun for the future:

Campeleon develops innovative camper expansion modules and a digital platform with a 3D configurator as the core. Implementation and adaptation of individual needs are very important!

SCYtech from Cottbus is delighted with the 2nd prize – 2,500 euros – donated by SAB The team develops, patents and markets tool innovations. With the use of new technologies and materials, an innovative cordless screwdriver in the form of a glove was developed, in which the screw head sits directly on the fingertip.

The first of the 3rd prizes - 1,500 euros - donated by LEAG, was awarded to KSD - competence school digital from Senftenberg. KSD is geared towards the digital education market and offers teachers in Germany's schools a high-quality portfolio of further training services and learning materials that are easy to use and efficiently integrated into the classroom.

The second 3rd prize - 1,500 euros - donated by BASF Schwarzheide GmbH, goes to frechundschwefel GbR from Finsterwalde. The two agency founders, who offer their customers advice, ideas, concepts, design and implementation from a single source, are delighted with the prize. The founders focus on the design and creation of high-quality, individual advertising materials and campaigns.

Görlitz high school students honored

This year, the Lausitz Business Initiative once again awarded a special prize to the best student company concepts in Lausitz. Augustum-Annen-Gymnasium Görlitz it to 3rd place with the business idea of vegan organic bath bombs.

Because, that's what the project team at the school thought: vegan organic bath bombs are not only a perfect gift, but also a beneficial wellness product. Especially if only organically certified ingredients from the region are used for production - when using environmentally friendly and vegan production materials.

The company AFA AG from Cottbus donated the prize money of the special prize totaling 2,500 euros - and with good reason. “The future of Lusatia depends above all on creative minds and sustainable business start-ups. The region needs entrepreneurship, which is why we encourage entrepreneurial thinking even at school age," says Martin Ruske, CEO, explaining his company's commitment.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of the award-winning founders and, of course, especially the winning team from Görlitz!

If you are now interested in founding a company and want to get expert advice beforehand or perhaps want to take part in the LEX in the coming year, you will find everything you need to know Wirtschaftsinitiative Lausitz eV

I wish you success! And many greetings!
