Summer vacation review

What sets us apart?
Many formats of public relations are aimed at the wonderful landscape. Is that always right?
We are also unique in #pricelessland. No question. The Zittau Mountains, the town of Görlitz or the cast-iron tower in Löbau. The UNESCO highlights biosphere reserve, the Muskau Arch and of course the World Heritage Park Fürst Pückler. But the many smaller highlights are also being diligently shared on social media. Good this way.
Is that enough?
I don't believe. Due to the countless apps, one is confronted with the fact that it is somehow beautiful everywhere, especially during the holidays. One likes the mountains, another the sea. Still others curve through extensive stretches of land in their caravans. When I see a lot of pictures I think: "We have to go there sometime! It's nice there." Please do not get this wrong. It's not my intention to say that we should shut down public relations and stop adorning ourselves with wonderful pictures of our homeland. On the contrary. More of that! Let's share it, like it, give it a heart or spread it in any other way! That can never hurt. But it won't be enough on its own. We can only advance the district of Görlitz if the overall offer is right. This also includes jobs, science, friendliness, politeness and helpfulness. Now and then also acceptance and tolerance. Just like countless other elements that make life worth living.
time to introspect
Our summer vacation was also exciting. From "all-inclusive with the best weather" to "driving home through the downpour" we had everything. I enjoy reading as many books as possible and engaging in tough card games with my kids (and mostly losing). But I always think of my home country, possible projects and the next steps in a low-key manner. What is going well, what maybe not? Where is what we are doing right and does the way we do it make sense? Where does the ENO 2022, 2023 and beyond stand? I was able to bring some ideas with me. Discard others directly. But one is for sure. I'm always happy to be back at work. A great team, exciting tasks and, above all, the opportunity to try something here and there - priceless.
The photo was taken at the end of my vacation. A "ritual" is sacred to me (with the consent of my wife!) - I leave the razor at home ;).
How my start was then - that comes on Thursday.
