PLANTS I CARE I HARVEST - Green added value and beyond

You can be pretty sure that the children here in the priceless country still know where the bread, milk, eggs and meat they need every day come from.

that the profession of a farmer now goes far beyond that of the farmer of earlier times, that of the fish farmer beyond that of the fisherman. But what exactly the "green professions" are, what they include in everyday life and in the annual rhythm and also what makes them so fascinating, we wanted to take a closer look at this year's Saxon Thanksgiving Festival in Zittau.

That's why we asked our filmmaker Christian Fietze to produce a film that presents this exciting profession in our district in detail. Not only to give people in the "green jobs" the appreciation they deserve - but also to give young professionals a detailed and realistic insight into this world, which allows daily work in and with nature . And to inspire them!

Christian not only put a lot of effort into the interviews, the recordings and the editing, he has also become a fan of the "green professions". After each shoot, he raved about the committed people, the passion with which they practice their jobs and of course the diversity of nature and the beauty of the landscape here in the district of Görlitz. "I became aware at the latest when the mowing machines were started that nature and man provide a tried and tested interaction. The engine had barely audible when half a dozen kites rose and circled above us. The birds had learned very well that they would soon after mowing - in the truest sense of the word - would have free access to all sorts of small prey." he smiles.

But with all the love for animals, which of course should be brought along for many "green professions" - the focus of the film "PLANTS CARE HARVESTING" are the people who go out every day, in all wind and weather, to produce the basis of life for all of us. The film shows their wide fields of activity and the varied work in agriculture, forestry and fishing and documents the work in the district of Görlitz. The content is surprising - who would suspect the cultivation of the South American Inca superfood quinoa in our district? The first mowing is reported and explained: why is it "Tierfutter de luxe"? How does the forester harvesting and reforestation, and what are the secrets of fish farming in Rietschen ? What makes this work attractive? What challenges do people have to face? How important are professional groups in our society?

One thing is very clear: the "green professions" open the way for a wide range of professional activities. Numerous further and advanced training opportunities offer the chance for a professional perspective as a responsible employee or self-employed entrepreneur. Here you will get a large overview with further films and lots of background information on the topic! Today, modern farms also fulfill additional service, ecological and balancing functions for society, nature and the environment and, as contractors and employers in rural areas, make a significant contribution to their economic development.
