Get to know the job of a media designer at Check the Job
15-year-old Leon Wild from Markersdorf took part in the “Check the Job” mentoring program and got to know the profession of media designer.
Our graphic designers Ariane Archner and Katarzyna Krzyzanowska were available as ENO mentors. At a total of six meetings, they gave Checker Leon a diverse and practical insight into the working world of the media designer. The range of topics ranged from the basics of image design to web design. "Actually, one hour was planned for each meeting," reports Katarzyna. "Most of the time, however, it took us twice as long because Leon was so interested." Since we work with Adobe design programs at ENO, Leon was able to try out programs such as PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign and Adobe XD. In addition to the classic image processing, Leon's CV was professionally designed and a small website with an attractive self-portrayal was developed in a PC and a smartphone version. These versions have been tested with different browsers and devices. Any errors found were corrected immediately. “Leon had a very good perception. This enabled him to manage many tasks independently,” says Katarzyna happily.
Later Leon would like to “do something with computers” professionally. However, he does not yet know exactly what profession that will be. He has already completed a number of internships, including in the IT sector. Perhaps Ariane and Katarzyna could now get him excited about media design?
