It looks sad.

If we take a sober look at the many bars on our district and its inhabitants in terms of age, I could write about it very factually at this point. The region is - compared to so many other regions - relatively old. The extrapolations show the strengthening of the trend, political decision-makers only know these statistics about us.  

What makes the region unique?

Dealing with the realities is part of it, it is even very important. Nevertheless, the first thing I think of when I hear the headline "People in the district" is not bar charts or pie charts. I'm thinking of THE main reason why I feel so comfortable here. In my everyday life I have countless encounters. Business and private - and one thing prevails. I am (mostly) surrounded by really great people. First of all, of course, my family. The bulwark of retreat, the anchor in stressful everyday life. But also actors who have achieved a great deal and now stand by my side as supporters, advisors and somehow also motivators and encourage me when I hesitate or have not made the right decision. Doers who inspire me with their ideas and encourage me to think further. Neighbors that I can rely on and have excellent relationships with one another. I could add a lot more to the list, but that would go beyond the scope.  

Challenge

Of course, the bars are right about one thing. We must be careful! Demographics could present us with facts that we can no longer capture. But it's not too late. In the next few years, a brutal social change will take place. A large number of positions will have to be filled due to the retirement of employees. Those in charge will want to delegate responsibility to someone. Due to the average age, club structures will have to be questioned and solutions sought. I could certainly go on enumerating here, too - each of you will surely have something to say about this.

But it also opens up new opportunities. The anonymity of big cities isn't for everyone. Vacancies may attract returnees or newcomers. The spirit "here goes something" is present. There are so many initiatives where people want to do something. People who want to get involved are always welcome. Our structures are flat, every new idea always finds creative supporters. Freedom of thought and the absolute necessity to do something - both are there. Now it is important to invite as many people as possible to get involved, to get involved proactively and to become part of the whole with your own ideas. From young to old, we need everyone. But we also have to show that and draw attention to ourselves. Above I mentioned the policy makers. You have to know, there are people here who want to develop the county. There are ideas that need to be supported. There is a goal not to accept the bars like this. We want to ensure that these develop better than forecast by moving to and staying here.
