"Development of green/sustainable commercial and industrial sites" - AK founded with many strong partners
Hello!
Kathrin Reuter
reports on the kick-off meeting of the trend-setting working group "Development of green/sustainable trades and industrial sites" - and at the same time extends an invitation.
For anyone interested in this topic:
It is quite clear that "sustainable and resource-conserving life and work" is a central focus in order to achieve a reduction in CO2 emissions. The structural change in our region offers the opportunity to develop sustainable economic structures and to expand, use and advertise them as a location advantage . An opportunity that we are seizing - not only because of climate protection - together with many interested partners from the region!
The basis are the goals of the United Nations for sustainable development to secure our livelihoods. Here in Germany, that is Agenda 2030 .
In general, sustainable commercial areas fit into goal 9, i.e. build a resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and support
innovations The establishment of a circular economy and the extraction of raw materials offers great potential here: this can reduce dependencies. At the same time, there are numerous intersections with the development goals shown here that are included in the assessment of whether it is a sustainable commercial area.
What does this mean for our district and for development at the regional level?
This overarching framework is reflected in the strategic priorities of the district of Görlitz .
The conditions for economic development are also adapted to sustainability - the following should be done:
- Sustainable business start-ups should be promoted
- Crisis-proof economic structures should be promoted
- the principle of sustainability must be observed
- important issues such as climate protection, energy transition, climate adaptation should be considered
There is also the regional energy and climate protection concept for the Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia planning region .
Here is the point that by 2050 there should be a greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction of 95% compared to 1990.
After exciting and informative presentations by HH2E AG and Prof. Dr. Berg and Kiessling got down to the nitty-gritty - with a whole load of questions.
How do you approach the development of a sustainable business park?
"The process begins with the selection of a suitable location," explains ENO project manager Kathrin Reuter, "and the integration of economic, ecological and social aspects is crucial."
Particular attention should be paid to the conflict triangle between economy, ecology and social aspects. "Achieving a balance in order to do justice to everyone involved is often not easy," says Kathrin, describing another challenge.
"An important question is: 'How can this balance be achieved when new commercial areas are created or existing locations are redesigned? What characteristics should sustainable commercial areas have in our district? What criteria or characteristics make a commercial area a sustainable commercial area?'" .
The working groups on planning new industrial estates and redesigning existing industrial estates began searching for answers - a topic that is already preoccupying many tradespeople, but will become even more important in the future. Therefore: we are very happy about reports -
