Hall of Science, Innovation & Research - A look into the future
That's how it was at the INSIDERTREFF , the trade fair for training and studies in the district of Görlitz
The district of Görlitz is a region in transition. It already offers the best opportunities for young people. But: Changes are pending - for the better! Job descriptions that currently exist will no longer exist after the end of coal-fired power generation, for example, but new ones will be created. An exciting future with many career opportunities awaits the younger generation in particular. This year, the ENO once again organized the trade fair for professional orientation in the district of Görlitz, the INSIDERTREFF . "Nobody has to leave their homeland to become 'something' in the distance" explains Sven Mimus , managing director of the ENO. "Young people here can look forward to exciting training, courses of study and many new jobs. This radiance can already be felt in some cases." he continues.
Nobody wanted to miss the opening - what could be nicer than motivating young people? District Administrator Dr. Stephan Meyer, Head of Economic Affairs Thomas Rublack, Oliver Huntemann (SMR) and Görlitz Mayor Octavian Ursu (along with others, clockwise from top left)
How can a young person at the beginning of their professional career be part of a great change and help shape the future of their homeland? What new professions are emerging in the district of Göritz? Which trend-setting technologies can we expect in the future? Answers to all these questions were given at the beginning of June at this year's INSIDERTREFF in Löbau, in the "Hall of Science, Innovation and Research". Together with well-known research institutions and companies that are already based in Görlitz or are planning to settle and/or cooperate, a view of the "Görlitz district of tomorrow" was presented on more than 1,200 square meters.
The numerous exhibitors in the hall offered the prospective young professionals the unique opportunity to find out directly about innovative technologies and career prospects. Exciting attractions awaited more than 4,000 visitors on the forecourt of the Hall of Science, Innovation and Research. You could drive the hydrogen scooter across the forecourt, visit Briesowsky joinery autonomous vehicle of the TU Dresden and literally catch a glimpse of the future of road traffic.
One or two drones from AEF - Autonom Elektrisch Flying gGmbh flew both in the hall and on the forecourt.
There was really a lot to discover at the INSIDERTREFF - "this is how professional orientation is fun" was often heard from parents and also from school leavers and students
Menschel lemonade as a welcome , music was playing in the background, and numerous information clips were shown on screens and screens - the Zittau Görlitz University of Applied Sciences made it clear why it is an attractive place to study for future students. The faculties presented themselves with numerous highlights and hands-on offers from study projects and research alliances. You could go on a virtual wine tour or ward off hacker attacks.
But the other exhibitors also took the opportunity to show the students and families what makes them a particularly good employer. Cosmic traces could be observed at the German Center for Astrophysics (DZA, based in Görlitz), which is currently in the founding phase. The Senckenberg Institute had virtual habitats of animals explored in 360°, inspiring young and old alike. At the Fraunhofer IWU, you could see and touch everything that can be created with a 3D printer - such as a bicycle. The Maker Space “Geistesblitz” from Löbau printed small giveaways live. Chemnitz University of Technology also represented - in the future it will rely on production with green carbon fibers from the Boxberg area .
"I'm glad that everything worked out so wonderfully and that what was on offer in the Hall of Innovations was so well received," explained project manager Clara Hartung (ENO), who coordinated the exhibitors in the hall. "We are particularly pleased that many exhibitors in the Hall of Research, Innovation and Science have already expressed their interest in participating next year," she said.
In addition to the numerous training and study opportunities, a district was presented in a round image that is actively shaping the future and invites schoolchildren to participate.
