On September 9th invites the innovation team of our Structural Change Task Force to the 9th Lausitz Café in the UnbezahlbarlandLounge in Görlitz. The theme this time is: Short distances, great diversity - perspectives for local supply.
The Lausitz Café is a regularly recurring series of events that aims to address central issues of structural change Each Lausitz Café focuses on one main topic, which is discussed in exchange with citizens of the Görlitz district. This time it's about perspectives of local supply - as is our new handbook on the topic.
Shaping structural change in the Görlitz district
The aim of the Lausitz Café is to actively shape the change resulting from the phase-out of coal-fired power generation in the region.
To do this, we examine various topics that are important in the context of structural change. Hundreds of committed citizens have now attended the popular citizen participation format because word has gotten around that the events are entertaining, low-threshold, informative and inspiring. Committed exchange is guaranteed! The format offers the opportunity to discuss specific questions in small groups and to develop solutions together. “We have now gained real fans of this citizen participation format,” explains innovation manager Saskia Brosius , not without pride. Saskia therefore recommends registering immediately - places are limited and participation is free.
We are also inviting all citizens to take an active part in the discussions in September.

On September 9th We want to discuss three central topics in the working groups from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. - your opinion is welcome!
Table 1: Digitization of the city center with task force project and innovation manager Saskia Brosius / tbd.
The “ City Initiative ” is planning a project to revitalize inner cities. An essential part of this project is an app that is intended to enhance the city center through various digital functions. The participants in this round table are invited to prioritize the proposed functions and further develop the most important ideas.
Questions:
- Which functions are crucial to revitalize the city center?
- What content should these top features provide?
Table 2: Prima+ÖV with the ENO project managers Steffi Dreier and Isabell Klette
The focus of this discussion is the question of how ride sharing could be better used in rural areas. Using an example from everyday life, the participants should consider what organizational and technical requirements are necessary to make carpooling attractive.
Questions:
- How could carpooling be organized?
- Which communication platforms, security aspects and incentives are important?
Table 3: Hand in Hand – Preservation of craft businesses in rural regions (Host: Anna-Marie Hillen , HWK Dresden)
This table is dedicated to the question of how local craft businesses in small towns can be maintained despite the challenges of today. Using the example of a family from a rural area, ideas will be developed on how local bakers, butchers and other service providers can be supported.
Questions:
- How can craft businesses in rural areas be strengthened and maintained?
Another topic, moderated by task force project manager Anja Nixdorf-Munkwitz , will deal with our new handbook on local supplies in the Görlitz district . Details will follow soon!
You can find a comprehensive and entertaining overview of the diverse, modern and traditional, digital, analogue and community approaches to local supply in rural areas in our new handbook on local supply in the Görlitz district
The Lausitz Café is aimed at all citizens of the Görlitz district and is free.
